Application Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Application Engineer who will be responsible for liaising with the development teams, troubleshooting and diagnosing product issues and implementing new solutions.
The role is very cross functional and you will be responsible for multiple projects. You will need extensive knowledge of IoT products as well as software development lifecycles. Speaking both French and English is required.

The company:
Created in 2015, Yacht Sentinel Ltd is a start-up specialising in connected boat technology. Since 2018, it has been offering "connected boat" solutions to shipyards, professional rental companies and recreational boaters. Our new "next-generation" hardware, called YS Pro, was released in late 2023. The data collected by our products is transmitted to our clients via an app (iOS, Android, Web app) and a CRM system (Partner Platform).

The marine sector is a buoyant market for intelligent technology. Not only boats are especially vulnerable to both crime and elements, but shipyards, dealers and charter companies are actively looking to offer an app to their customers and digitalize their fleet to improve customer support and overall monitoring of their fleet.

Following the acquisition of Tow Pro in Dec 2024, Yacht Sentinel aims to accelerate the development of new features for both Tow Pro and YS Pro.

Experience and qualifications:
Engineer’s Degree in embedded systems
New college graduate or with a first professional experience of 1-3 years in a relevant industry.
Experiences in Embedded Linux Development, hardware design experience is good to have, C/C++; process release
Experiences in IoT applications and protocols, cellular modules and wireless modules: Cloud connectivity; Security; Communication; Optimization; Power Management
Ability to quickly respond to changes in business scenarios
Experience building and integrating API’s.
Excellent communication skills in English & French (written and verbal)

Working closely with the development team, you will design new tools and integrate them into our existing product lines
Lead multiple, varying scope cross-functional projects, through end-to-end project lifecycle
Actively seek out and resolve cross-functional business issues
Actively seen problem resolutions
Support internal and external groups
Navigate and execute in an environment of ambiguity
Develop new features
Provide tools to help identify frequent issues and limit calls to our support team
