RDS (Rhythm Diagnostic Systems) is a med-tech startup committed to transforming post-operative care. We develop Multisense®, an advanced e-health solution that integrates a wearable microelectronic patch with a robust cloud-based platform. Multisense offers continuous, real-time monitoring of vital signs, enabling safer and more efficient patient recovery at home. Our solution reduces hospital length of stay and the risk of nosocomial infections, promoting better healthcare outcomes.
Headquartered in prestigious medical research centers in Strasbourg, France, RDS is at the forefront of e-health innovation. We have started commercialisation in 2024 and are now looking at a back-end team leader to consolidate developments and lead software operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership
Oversee the backend team and technical development.
Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, data scientists, and DevOps engineers, to ensure seamless integration and operation.
Development and Operations
Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python (>= 3.9) and frameworks like Flask.
Lead the development of reliable real-time data pipelines, leveraging technologies like Kafka and Flink.
Integrate backend solutions with health data standards such as FHIR and HL7, ensuring interoperability and compliance.
Infrastructure and Cloud Management
Optimize the performance, availability, and scalability of backend systems hosted on AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, CloudWatch).
Leverage Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation and orchestration.
Manage database systems, including MySQL, TimeScale, and data storage formats like Zarr, to support large-scale data flows.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Drive a culture of high-quality coding, with an emphasis on clean code, high test coverage, and rigorous peer reviews.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket, ensuring efficient deployments.
Collaborate with the QA team to ensure adherence to medical-grade software standards, such as ISO13485 and IEC62304.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
Mentor and support team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.
Define project timelines, manage agile workflows (Scrum, Kanban), and ensure effective communication across teams.
Required QualificationsTechnical Expertise
Proficiency in Python (>= 3.9) and experience with frameworks like Flask or Django.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Bitbucket.
In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, ECS, S3, CloudWatch, and managed services.
Data and Architecture
Proven expertise in building and maintaining time-series databases (e.g., TimeScale) and distributed systems using Kafka and OpenSearch.
Experience with data interoperability standards like FHIR and HL7.
Familiarity with API design principles and backend performance optimization.
Leadership and Collaboration
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, make strategic architectural decisions, and mentor team members.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Additional Skills (Preferred)
Knowledge of container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes.
Experience working with IoT systems or medical device software.
Understanding of healthcare data security and compliance (GDPR, ISO27001).
