**Job Title**
Senior Back-End Engineer (Remote)
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the backend systems for a high‑traffic mobile MMO. Drive performance, scalability, and stability for a live product enjoyed by tens of thousands of daily users, collaborating closely with game designers, Unity developers, QA, and data teams.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 7 years of back‑end development experience, including 3+ years managing infrastructure and scalability for high‑traffic services.
- Proven track record on a live product with ≥10 k active monthly users.
- Strong background in algorithm design, data structures, networking, and clean code practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and evolve server‑side infrastructure (game servers, services, APIs).
- Implement core server logic: matchmaking, game state, synchronization.
- Ensure low‑latency, high‑availability, and resilience under load.
- Develop high‑performance services using Node.js or similar.
- Promote coding best practices: version control, automated tests, code reviews.
- Mentor teammates, conduct pair programming, document and share knowledge.
- Stay abreast of new technologies; contribute to R&D initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Unity, QA, design, data) to align backend capabilities with product goals.
**Required Skills**
- Deep proficiency in a back‑end language (Node.js, Go, Java, etc.) and Git.
- Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform preferred).
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, concurrency, and performance tuning.
- Hands‑on experience with load balancing, caching, and micro‑service patterns.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentoring abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if equivalent industry experience is demonstrated.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.
