**Job title** Researcher / Data Scientist – Careers **Role Summary** Bridge quantitative analysis and careers expertise to produce actionable insights on Belgium’s career and pension data. Leverages statistical tools and domain knowledge to explore, visualize, and report on career trends, informing policy and stakeholder decisions. **Expectations** - Master’s degree in Economics, Law, Sociology, Political Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, or equivalent. - Strong analytical mindset: ability to process large datasets, identify relationships, draw conclusions, and synthesize findings. - Deep interest in social security, careers, and pensions; capacity for autonomous, rapid learning of related domains (insurance, taxation, labor law). - Proficiency in data management and statistical analysis, with knowledge of Tableau, R, SAS, SPSS, Stata or similar tools. - Keen on data visualization: experience creating dashboards and reporting panels. - Excellent written and oral communication, adaptable to diverse audiences. - Self‑directed, proactive, collaborative, flexible, with a diplomatic approach to stakeholder engagement. - Fluency in French or Dutch; good command of the other national language; functional English. **Key Responsibilities** - Extract, clean, and enrich career data from national databases. - Conduct statistical analyses and develop indicators related to social security, labor market, taxation, and pension context. - Produce clear, concise summaries, reports, and dashboards for internal and external users. - Maintain and document database structure, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. - Identify and develop new metrics and concepts to enhance the quality of career information. - Serve as a primary contact for colleagues, partners, and data users, supporting decision‑making. - Monitor sector developments and incorporate emerging best practices into data processes. **Required Skills** - Data processing & database querying (SQL, data manipulation in R/Python). - Statistical analysis (regression, forecasting, trend analysis). - Dashboarding & visualization (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent). - Reporting (national and international standards). - Technical writing and presentation. - Multilingual communication (French/Dutch + English). - Critical thinking, problem solving, adaptability. **Required Education & Certifications** - Master’s degree in a quantitative or social science discipline (Economics, Law, Sociology, Political Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, etc.). - Professional certifications in data analytics or statistical software (e.g., Tableau Desktop Specialist, SAS Certified Base Programming, R Programming, SPSS Statistics) are advantageous but not mandatory.
