Job Description
**Job title**: Software Engineer **Role Summary**: Responsible for designing, building, and optimizing real‑time audio/video processing pipelines that ingest live streams, replace audio tracks with translated audio, and re‑integrate the stream with sub‑second latency. Owns end‑to‑end development, performance tuning, and reliability of distributed services on Kubernetes. **Expactations**: 4+ years of production software engineering experience; deep knowledge of systems programming and concurrency; strong communication skills for explaining tradeoffs; ownership of problems from conception through deployment. **Key Responsibilities**: - Design and develop low‑latency audio/video stream pipelines (demux/mux, ASR, translation, TTS). - Implement and optimize media processing using FFmpeg, GStreamer, or similar frameworks. - Build and scale asynchronous back‑end services on Kubernetes, applying autoscaling with KEDA. - Integrate gRPC/Protocol Buffers interfaces. - Monitor, instrument, and troubleshoot services with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Sentry, etc. - Participate in incident reviews and drive reliability improvements. **Required Skills**: - Systems programming in Rust, C++, Go, or Python. - Experience building sub‑second latency systems and distributed services on Kubernetes. - Knowledge of media streaming protocols (SRT, RTMP, MPEG‑TS, HLS, etc.). - Proficiency with monitoring/observability tools. - Strong written and verbal communication. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (preferred); equivalent experience considered acceptable.
