Job title: Application Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend software solutions that support the company’s fibre‑broadband service platform. Work in a distributed environment, collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable applications.
Expectations
- Deliver clean, maintainable code in agreed programming languages.
- Participate actively in the full development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and provide timely documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain backend services using Python and modern frameworks.
- Build and update frontend applications with PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Angular or Vue.
- Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack.
- Conduct code reviews; enforce coding standards, performance, and security best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and design specifications.
- Work closely with product owners and cross‑functional teams to refine requirements and design solutions.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the development process (Agile/Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD).
- Manage source code (Git) and containerization (Docker).
- Support the deployment and operation of SaaS applications and integrations (e.g., HubSpot, WooCommerce).
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one of: Python, JavaScript, PHP.
- Experience with Angular or Vue for frontend development.
- Knowledge of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Familiarity with REST API design and integration.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Working knowledge of GIT, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Agile, Scrum, or DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with full development lifecycle, code reviews, and documentation.
- Desirable: WordPress/WooCommerce, SAAS integration (HubSpot), geopandas/NumPy/SQL, Node.js, Docker.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications in cloud (Azure, AWS) or development practices are a plus.
