Job Title: Power BI Developer

Location: Hybrid - Leeds 1x/week

Day Rate: PS500/day Outside Ir35

Duration: 6 Months

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to play a key role in building and optimising data reporting solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Power BI, SQL, and semantic modelling, with hands-on experience designing and implementing star schema data models to support business intelligence and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
Build and optimise semantic models to support self-service analytics.
Create and implement star schema designs for efficient and scalable reporting solutions.
Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries to support BI solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across BI solutions.

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven commercial experience as a Power BI Developer.
Strong proficiency in Power BI (data modelling, DAX, and visualisation best practices).
Advanced SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
Experience in semantic modelling and designing star schema data models.
Understanding of data warehouse principles and best practices.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable (not essential):

Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP).
Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
Familiarity with data governance and data quality principles.
