Network Engineer - 6 months - Guernsey
We are currently representing one of our partners who are seeking a Network Engineer for an initial 6-month contract based in Guernsey. This role is a unique blend of Network Support, Operations, and Project Work, offering a diverse and challenging environment. You will play a critical role in maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing the network infrastructure while contributing to key projects that drive innovation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support across network operations, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Manage and execute projects, including Firewall upgrades and Router and switch upgrades.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco Routing & Switching solutions.
Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot network protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning Tree, Layer 2, and MPLS.
Implement and maintain network security solutions, with a focus on Cisco ASA/FTD Firewalls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with business needs.
Conduct performance analysis and recommend improvements to enhance network reliability and scalability.
Key Skills:
Proven experience in a Network Engineer role or similar, with exposure to both operations and projects.
Expertise in Cisco Routing & Switching and Firewalls, particularly Cisco ASA/FTD.
Hands-on experience with network protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning Tree, Layer 2, and MPLS.
Strong background in Firewall upgrades and Router/switch upgrades.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
