Solution Architect
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Solution Architectto be based in their client's office in Luton, UK.
This is a hybrid role, and you may be able to work some days remotely.
This is a 6+ month temporary contract, to start ASAP.
Day rate: Competitive Market rate.
The purpose of the job is to lead the solution architecture definition for complex end to end solutions, working with Functional Consultants, Technical Architects covering each solution component, and Enterprise Architects driving the long-term architectural direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation
Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as designing to realise the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution
Communicate the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain Architects in the formalisation and adoption of IT standards and procedures
Champion a structured approach to business application solutions
Directly assist in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture
Assure solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions
Influence changes to standards when necessary
Assist domain architecture team on solutions management and timing of financial spend for application solutions
Support the architectural aspects of all application projects in peer IT portfolios
Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrade, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership
Provide analysis of security protection technologies as necessary
Plan and design foundational frameworks to leverage AI/Gen AI technologies effectively to fulfil business needs (Desirable and will elevate the profile)
Key Requirements:
Must have SA experience in the Customer domain related to solutioning with Customer Management platforms (CMP), Customer engagement platforms (CEP), CIAM (Customer Identity & Access Management) platforms and Consent Management platforms
Proven track record for architecting Cloud native solutions (preferably on the AWS cloud)
Must understand Architecture Review Board and Technical Design Assurance process and has delivered Solution Blueprints and design artefacts
Able to quickly and independently gain control and run solution design within the client's transformation programme
Should have demonstrated leadership skills in previous engagement(s)
Architecture and technology knowledge in Aviation Commercial domains such as GDS and PSS systems (Nice to have)
Excellent oral and written communication
Analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail regarding accounting skills
Ability to work under indirect supervision on take on responsibilities swiftly
Broad understanding of information technology topics
Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities
Technically creative and open-minded

Control Systems Development Engineer – Internal Combustion Engines Peterborough / Hybrid working - 3 days on-site per week 12 month contract - likely to be extended The successful applicant for this position will join the European Controls & Software team, which is responsible for engine controls and software development for small and medium diesel, hybrid and electric powertrain programmes. The successful applicant will be involved in the design and development of controls and software for advanced diesel engine controls and / or hybrid systems controls. Key Responsibilities of the Control Systems Development Engineer Work with process partner teams to gather and develop requirements for the advanced diesel engines and hybrid power systems being developed for future, more sustainable, low carbon power systems. Create control algorithms / software models using Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow to meet diesel engine and / or hybrid power system software requirements. Conduct control system tuning / calibration activities on test bench and / or on test bed / machine to achieve desired system performance. Conduct sub-system FMEAs, documenting potential failure modes, identifying and completing design and validation actions and managing subsequent updates. Plan and execute verification and validation testing for electronics / control system software in SiL, HiL or on-test bed or development machines. Troubleshoot and resolve electronics / control system issues encountered during engine or power system running. Qualifications, Skills, Experience required of the Control Systems Development Engineer Strong technical background (good technical degree preferred in mechanical, electronic, electrical, control systems or automotive engineering) though other qualifications / experience will be considered. Significant, demonstrable experience of using Mathworks tools (Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow) for model-based software design and development to create embedded software. This should have been gained in a diesel engine or hybrid power systems development environment. Ability to translate and develop customer requirements and objectives into production-ready software models. Knowledge of software FMEA and validation plan creation.
