Key Responsibilities:
DevOps Consultancy & Architecture: Lead digital transformation initiatives and proof of concept (PoC) projects, ensuring that best practices for DevOps are implemented.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor a small team of engineers to help foster growth and improve practices.
Client-Facing Role: Work directly with clients, offering consultancy on adopting modern DevOps methodologies and transforming business processes.
Roadmap Creation: Define and implement a roadmap to improve DevOps maturity and operational efficiency for clients.
Ideal Candidate Skills & Experience:
DevOps Architecture & Consultancy: Proven experience working as a DevOps Architect or Consultant with knowledge of all cloud platforms (minimal bias toward any one).
Experience with Digital Transformation working for a global consultancy
Leadership: Previous experience mentoring or leading a small-mid sized team.
Consulting Experience: Strong experience in providing consultancy services, particularly in advising and implementing cloud solutions for end customers.
Security/Government/Automation Experience: Experience in sectors like security, government, or business automation is a plus.
Client-Facing Expertise: Comfortable with client interaction, helping clients adopt modern, scalable cloud solutions.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Cloud Consulting and DevOps experience who is looking to take on a leadership position, while helping clients enhance their cloud and DevOps practices.
The hybrid working setup also offers flexibility with the requirement to occasionally travel to client sites.

- You’ll be joining a quant-focused hedge fund at a key stage of growth as they re-architect their on-prem solutions and migrate a number of key services to the cloud (AWS). Their cloud journey is at the initial stages, meaning you’ll enjoy working in a greenfield environment within an already successful trading environment. The fund operates more in line with a fintech as opposed to an established hedge fund. It’s a 250-headcount business, things move fast here. There is limited red tape and engineers are empowered to make decisions and help to implement change. Collaboration is key here, you'll initially work 5 days on-site before dropping down to 4 days per week after passing probation. It’s a varied role, you’ll design cloud solutions and implement these in code before supporting the build. There’ll be a strong focus on automation here. You’ll develop and maintain Terraform modules for IaC, automate configuration management using Ansible and use Python to create scripts to fill in gaps when pipelines need glue. Whilst working in a financial/trading environment is advantageous, they are open to Engineers from outside of the industry. It’s essential that you’ll have helped a tech-driven organisation on a similar cloud transformation journey. Realistic compensation is up to £140k basic salary + bonus.
