Founded in 2022, Everfield has an ecosystem presence in 7 countries, and growing.

Everfield Payments are an ambitious and innovative embedded payments business working inside a company that buys, builds, and grows European vertical market and specialist software companies, providing them with the tools they need to move to the next level. Our intention is to transform the way Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) integrate payment acceptance into their solutions. With a small but rapidly growing team, we are focused on delivering exceptional, scalable payment solutions tailored to the needs of the European market.

The Role

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be instrumental in shaping the technical vision and strategy of our business. Initially building and leading a small team of 3 people, you will spearhead recruitment, establish our technical foundations, and guide the evolution of our technology stack. Over the next 18 months, you will grow the team to 10 members and foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

What You Will Do

Team Recruitment and Leadership
Build a talented and cohesive technical team, with a focus on attracting and retaining top-tier talent.
Foster a strong engineering culture emphasising collaboration, innovation, and quality.

Technical Strategy and Tooling
Define and implement the technical roadmap
Establish our scalable technical tooling environment, processes, and workflows.
Ensure robust development practices, including code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.
Payment Integrations and Architecture
Design and oversee the development of integrations with our key strategic European payment provider, enabling seamless reconciliation and billing for embedded services via our portfolio ISVs
Develop model architectures and best practices for ISVs to integrate their solutions with retail environments, such as points of sale, inventory systems, and payment terminals.
Collaborate with external partners, including providers such as Adyen or Stripe to embed their payment capability with the customer environments of the ISVs.
Technical Execution
Lead the delivery of key projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to an appropriate quality. Demonstrate the ability to flex the priority of those three elements.
Balance hands-on development and leadership as needed during the early stages of team growth.
Ensure data security and integrity are foundational aspects of the solution
Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies in the payment space.
