Java Software Engineer

Java Software Engineer is required by our client in Glasgow to join a project team to take ownership in coding, unit testing, PR review/approval, progression, and management of code through environments into production, mentoring and developing team members. As Java Software Engineer you will be instrumental in a scrum team developing and supporting services in a large-scale complex Microservices based architecture hosted completely on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

As Java Software Engineer not only will you take ownership of a complex estate, but you will also be accountable for future integrations bringing best-practise and scalability principles to ensure clean code continues to be implemented within a Test-Driven Domain (TDD) and Domain-Drive-Design (DDD). My clients software engineering approach is modern and follows workflow-based architectures, with deployment practises in a DevOps and Scrum workflow, utilising Maven and Jenkins to implement solutions across Kubernetes clusters.

Working in a hybrid working culture as Senior Java Software Engineer the expectation is that you will be onsite in Edinburgh across to three days a week.

Java Software Engineer contract profile required:
Must have at least five years’ experience developing software solutions in Java and knowledgeable in version 17.
An accomplished background writing clean code, adhering to scalability using TDD and DDD approaches.
Outside of coding that you have influenced design and architecture in previous roles.
Well-practised in DevOps deployment practises and utilising Docker and Kubernetes.
Must have a degree in Computer Science or similar qualification.

Java Software Engineer contract details include.
Start date: ASAP.
Contract: until 27th December 2024 – Strong likelihood of extension beyond this.
Salary: Up to £375 a day.
Days onsite: Hybrid, 3 days onsite in Glasgow office.
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
