Location: Hybrid (Home working + office in Croydon) - open to UK residents only
Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours (contract – maternity leave cover)
Reports To: Head of Research

Using a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, our dedicated research specialists work in partnership with our clients to meet their insight needs.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Director to lead and drive high-quality research projects and programmes during a maternity leave period. This pivotal role involves managing key client accounts, proactively help shape the strategy and operations of the research team to align with wider organisational goals, and mentoring a team of talented junior and senior researchers.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in business development by crafting and proposing bespoke research solutions for prospective clients, ensuring the continued delivery of exceptional results and maintaining strong client relationships.

Experience Required

Leadership & Project Management: Proven experience leading research projects and programmes, ensuring quality and efficiency, and serving as the main research contact for key client accounts. Ability to deputise for senior leadership as needed.
People Management: Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, managing, and mentoring research teams, including senior researchers, to develop their skills and ensure team growth and effectiveness.
Business Development: Experience in driving bespoke research sales, identifying new revenue opportunities, leading client briefing calls, proposal development, and managing sales pipelines.
Specialist Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of research tools, processes, and best practices, with expertise in IT, team management, presentation, and customer service.
Client & Internal Relationships: Strong relationship management skills to oversee strategic client accounts and collaborate effectively with internal teams across research, marketing, and commercial functions.
Task & Functional Expertise: Skilled in project management, quality control, and supplier management. Experience in delivering bespoke research proposals, directing diverse projects, and presenting insights at industry events. Knowledge of market requirements to drive innovation and revenue optimisation.
