CNI Monitoring SME (SC Cleared / Eligible)

Location: Warwick / Wokingham (initial training in Warwick)

Working Arrangement: 3 days per week onsite

Contract Length: 6 months initially (likely extension)

Day Rate: £360 per day (Inside IR35)

About the Role

We’re looking for a CNI Monitoring Subject Matter Expert to provide deep technical expertise in monitoring solutions within a critical national infrastructure environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high availability and performance of essential IT services through effective monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation.

You’ll join a collaborative technical team, managing your own deliverables and engaging with both Application and Infrastructure teams to drive excellence in monitoring and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical authority for monitoring solutions.
Configure, manage, and maintain BMC monitoring tools (BMC / BHOM / TSOM).
Monitor, analyse, and troubleshoot alerts and events to quickly resolve issues.
Develop and maintain service models to understand dependencies and system health.
Support incident and problem management processes across the monitoring ecosystem.
Drive continuous improvement in monitoring capabilities and operational efficiency.
Prepare for and complete all audit requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong background in IT monitoring, infrastructure management, and troubleshooting.
Experience working as part of a technical delivery team, with ownership of individual deliverables.
Knowledge of network security concepts, including protocols, security principles, and common attack vectors.
Competence with operating systems, network troubleshooting, and scripting/programming.
Eligible for or holding SC clearance.

Desirable Skills

Hands-on experience with BMC / BHOM / TSOM monitoring tools.
Familiarity with monitoring architectures, incident management, and automation in enterprise environments.
