Summary:

You will design, build, and operate governed data products and services that power AI solutions across the LOB. You’ll turn source systems and frontline data into discoverable, secure, and reusable products on Azure/Databricks, with end-to-end lineage, quality, and access controls. Your work enables faster delivery, consistent governance, and high-trust consumption by application and AI teams.

What you’ll do:

Build governed data products:
Engineer batch/stream pipelines on Databricks (Delta Lake/Delta Live Tables) for curated datasets and features.
Register assets in Unity Catalog; classify and document in Purview; publish SLAs, quality rules, and lineage.
Operationalize governance and access:
Implement role- and attribute-based access aligned to Unity Catalog and Entra ID.
Apply sensitivity labels, masking, and fine-grained policies; align with Privacy, InfoSec, and Secure Analytics (SACS).
Standardize interfaces:
Expose productized data via approved APIs and query endpoints; support standard protocols and patterns (e.g., MCP-style context services where applicable).
Ensure versioning, schema contracts, and backward compatibility.
Quality, lineage, and observability:
Implement data quality checks, anomaly detection, and freshness KPIs; capture lineage across pipelines and consuming apps.
Instrument with OpenTelemetry and platform-native logging for audit-ready evidence.
Partner for scale:
Work with application teams, AI engineering, and MLOps to accelerate safe consumption and reuse.
Drive “build once, reuse broadly” across Distribution apps (e.g., holdings, CRM/eCRM components, CGP, operational telemetry).
Reliability and performance:
Design for resiliency (retries, idempotency, compensation), cost efficiency, and performance at peak volumes.

What you bring:

6+ years building data platforms/pipelines on cloud (Azure preferred) with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, and streaming.
Hands-on with Unity Catalog, Purview (cataloging, classification, lineage), and API exposure patterns on Azure.
Strong grasp of governed data access (RBAC/ABAC), masking, encryption, and Zero Trust-aligned design.
Experience implementing data quality frameworks, SLAs/SLOs, and end-to-end lineage.
Proficiency with CI/CD for data (GitHub/Azure DevOps), infra-as-code, and environment promotion controls.
Clear communicator who can translate business needs into durable data products and partner across multiple teams.

Nice to have:

Experience with feature stores, MLflow, and operational telemetry pipelines.
Familiarity with experimentation data needs (A/B testing, attribution) and BI consumption (Power BI).
