Freelance Data Analyst (Financial Sector) – Brussels (Hybrid, 12 Months)

Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Freelance Data Analyst to support our financial data operations in Brussels on a hybrid basis. This is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting, helping drive data-driven decision-making within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze large financial datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
Work with SQL databases to extract, clean, and transform financial data.
Support risk analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling to guide strategic decisions.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, Basel III, MiFID II).
Collaborate with finance, risk, and compliance teams to provide insights.
Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Communicate findings to stakeholders through clear visualizations and presentations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker).
Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, VBA is a plus).
Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis (preferred but not mandatory).
Understanding of financial metrics, risk analysis, and forecasting techniques.
Soft Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills to present insights to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in the financial sector (banking, investment, insurance, fintech).
Familiarity with financial regulations (IFRS, Basel III, MiFID II).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data management is a plus.
