Job Specifications

Location: Newport, Wales (Hybrid – Office presence twice weekly required)

We’re looking for a talented frontend developer with a passion for clean, efficient code and building intuitive and pixel-perfect user interfaces. If you’ve got strong experience with modern frontend technologies and enjoy creating polished, high-performance applications, you could be the perfect fit.

This role is frontend, but we’d love to find someone who also has an interest or awareness of backend technologies to collaborate effectively across the stack. You must be able to commit to commuting to our office in Newport, South Wales - every Tuesday and Wednesday. This is non-negotiable.

What you’ll do:

Build and optimise modern, responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript
Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, scalable frontend code
Work with custom styling as well as component libraries such as Ant Design
Implement and manage application state using Redux, MobX, or similar
Integrate with backend services using Axios and RESTful APIs
Work with server-state management tools such as React Query
Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams
Take ownership of frontend components and contribute to overall architecture
Write clean, maintainable, reusable code
Participate in reviews, testing, and deployment processes

Essential Experience

3+ years frontend development experience

Strong React and TypeScript experience

Custom CSS/styling plus UI libraries (ideally Ant Design)

State management with Redux or MobX

API integration using Axios

Experience with server-state tools such as React Query

Git, Agile workflow

Strong eye for UI detail and performance

Our Hiring Process:

Stage 1 - Introduction (~1 hour)

Split into two parts:

Role Overview - A relaxed conversation to learn more about each other. We’ll discuss your experience, our requirements and learn a little more about what makes you tick.

Brief Technical Assessment - A brief technical assessment to gauge your approach and thinking.

If successful at this stage, we will get back in touch after the call and offer you a take-home test.

Stage 2 - Technical Assessment (1 hour)

Code Review – Review the code submitted from your take-home test.

Stage 3 - Final Interview (~30 mins)

A short wrap-up chat with our CEO to align on values, culture, and direction
