Job Description

Merchandisers are integral to the success of ASOS.com and this is a unique role supporting the merchandising function. Buying is an imperfect science and the Merchandising team are there to aid the difficult decision-making process, whilst ensuring maximum profitability and relevancy for the ASOS customer, globally.  Merchandisers are responsible for strategically driving the business through effective planning, range building and trading, working collaboratively with Buying, Sourcing, Design, Technical, Global Commerce and Marketing teams to achieve commercially successful outcomes for the department and wider business.

What you’ll be doing…

Working to deliver the planned sales and profitability of the brand/business unit through effective planning and in-season analysis to support trading decisions
Regularly analysing department performances to maximise commercial opportunities and minimise risk
Working alongside the Head of Merchandising to ensure the delivery of all KPI’s
Through strategic planning and trading actions, intake analysis and regular analytics of Key KPI’s, supports the head off merchandising to make the appropriate decisions on the brand/Business Unit
Developing and building strong relationships with the Product merchandisers and relevant stakeholders in the business
Providing an appropriate level of data analysis and insights that can be shared with relevant teams to aid decision making and gain buy in for ideas
Regularly meetings with key stakeholders for the business unit to ensure that key messages and movements in forecast are communicated clearly.
Working collaboratively with the management team to offer solutions and analysis to support future decision making
Developing short term and long term department strategies with the Head of Merchandising to maximise department profit.
Driving, adapting and adjusting company strategy in season based on trade performance
Resolving issues that may arise and working collaboratively with Key stakeholders and other relevant teams to come up with effective solutions
Reviews KPIs regularly to ensure that the BTA is realistic, highlighting changes to team and management.
Demonstrating a global mindset, discussing and sharing opportunities and risks with other depts to influence global strategy and drive divisional performance
Seeking opportunities to improve ways of working and systems use to trade more effectively globally, sharing knowledge with the team


Qualifications

Has strong systems skills, including advanced Excel and relevant trading systems.
Experience with Power BI or SQL would be preferable but not essential
