Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Develop, maintain, and optimize software for safety‑critical neuromonitoring medical devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while collaborating with hardware, product, clinical, and cross‑functional teams. **Expectations:** - Minimum 5 years of software development experience, preferably in regulated or safety‑critical environments. - Proven ability to deliver high‑quality code in C/C++ and Python. - Strong understanding of medical device standards (IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 62366, IEC 13485, FDA) and cybersecurity requirements. - Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary groups. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement embedded software for medical devices, adhering to design control phases (requirements, risk analysis, documentation, verification). - Perform code reviews, integration testing, and support continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines. - Maintain and update safety‑critical software, addressing bugs and performance issues. - Contribute to Lean/Agile process improvements and participate in sprint activities. - Collaborate with hardware, product, and clinical engineering to troubleshoot and resolve system issues. - Support prototype‑to‑production transition for next‑generation neuromonitoring platforms. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming. - Experience with real‑time, multitasking systems (RTOS preferred). - Familiarity with signal processing or AI/ML on GPUs (CUDA) is a plus. - Knowledge of agile development methodologies. - Competence with Git/Bitbucket, debugging tools, CI/CD, TDD, and BDD. - Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). - Familiarity with medical device software standards (IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 62366) and FDA regulations; formal certification in these standards is advantageous but not mandatory.
