**Job Title**
Head of Information Technology
**Role Summary**
Senior executive responsible for setting the strategic direction, governance, and day‑to‑day management of all information technology and information systems across a mid‑sized national organisation. Leads digital transformation initiatives, ensures secure, scalable, and efficient IT environments, and aligns technology with business objectives.
**Expectations**
- Drive and evolve IT strategy and digital transformation programmes.
- Deliver world‑class service levels and support for a national user base.
- Maintain robust cybersecurity, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and contract negotiations.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Develop and implement enterprise IT strategy, including infrastructure, cloud, data centres, applications, ERP, and security.
2. Lead the design, delivery, and operational management of IT systems and services (desktop, server, network, cloud, and data).
3. Oversee ITIL‑based service delivery, incident management, change management, and continual improvement.
4. Champion information security policy, risk management, and compliance with relevant standards.
5. Build and mentor a cross‑functional team (infrastructure, application support, service delivery, programme/project management).
6. Control departmental budgets, report financial performance, and optimise cost structures.
7. Select, monitor, and contract vendors; drive service level agreements and performance metrics.
8. Engage with senior business stakeholders to align IT initiatives with corporate strategy.
**Required Skills**
- Proven senior IT leadership (Head, Director, CIO, CTO, equivalent).
- Experience owning IT strategy, digital transformation, and enterprise IT management.
- Strong ITIL or equivalent service management knowledge.
- Expertise in cloud (Azure, AWS), ERP/CRM, data centre operations, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated programme and project management capability (Agile/Scrum, PMP/Prince2).
- Financial acumen: budget planning, cost control, and vendor contract management.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and advisory skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related discipline.
- ITIL Foundation or higher (ITIL v4) certification; other relevant certifications (CISSP, PMP, Prince2, Azure/AWS) advantageous.
