Job Description
**Job title** Advanced Robotics R&D Engineer **Role Summary** Research & development engineer responsible for designing, implementing and validating robotic solutions for process automation involving flexible bodies in manufacturing. Leads technical projects, develops perception, decision‑making and control strategies, calibrates multi‑axis mechatronic systems, and drives knowledge transfer to industrial partners. **Expectations** - 5 + years of R&D experience in industry with a focus on robotics. - Strong cross‑disciplinary background enabling collaboration across engineering, software, optics and materials teams. - Proven ability to prototype, demonstrate, and deliver mature robotic modules. - Proficiency in ROS/ROS2 and object‑oriented programming. - Experience with agile project management and technology transfer. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Define hardware and software architecture for robotic process automation. 2. Design and implement perception modules (sensor selection, calibration, signal processing). 3. Translate business rules into decision models and control algorithms; plan robotic actions. 4. Develop and tune composite controllers for multi‑axis, sensor‑assisted systems. 5. Calibrate and troubleshoot mechatronic assemblies; manage end‑to‑end integration. 6. Lead agile teams, coordinate project deliverables, and oversee technical roadmaps. 7. Transfer developed modules to industrial integrators and large‑scale users. 8. Initiate and pilot new application activities (e.g., automated draping, cable handling, multi‑robot coordination). **Required Skills** - Robotics and mechatronics development. - ROS/ROS2 ecosystem, including launch files, message passing, and service/action patterns. - Object‑oriented programming (C++, Python). - Sensor integration, calibration, and signal processing. - Control theory (PID, advanced loop designs), motion planning, and visualization. - Experience with agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban). - Strong experimental mindset and ability to prototype to production readiness. - Excellent written and verbal communication; teamwork orientation. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. - PhD is highly desirable. - ROS certification or equivalent demonstrable expertise in robotic software stacks.
