Job Description
Job Title: Data Scientist – Automotive Claims & Computer Vision Role Summary Leverage machine learning, computer vision, and generative AI to transform automotive insurance claims and repair workflows. Analyse large, heterogeneous datasets, develop interpretable predictive models, and deliver production‑ready solutions that enhance product efficiency and innovation. Expectations - Produce high‑accuracy, interpretable models that drive measurable impact on claims processes. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions. - Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the organization’s analytics community. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and validate computer vision models for vehicle assessment and damage detection. - Build predictive models to forecast claim outcomes, repair costs, and adjuster workflows. - Clean, feature‑engineer, and integrate data from insurance claims, vehicle diagnostics, and repair records. - Evaluate model performance, conduct bias and fairness checks, and ensure scalability for production. - Deploy models into production pipelines using Python, SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud services. - Create documentation, visualisations, and reports for stakeholders. - Stay current with emerging AI techniques (e.g., generative AI) and recommend their application. Required Skills - Strong programming in Python; proficiency with SQL/NoSQL (Hadoop, MongoDB, Neo4j). - Expertise in machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and computer vision libraries (OpenCV). - Experience with generative AI tools and techniques is a plus. - Data wrangling, feature engineering, and model evaluation skills. - Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non‑technical audiences. - Problem‑solving mindset and collaboration across business, product, and engineering functions. Required Education & Certifications - Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering) with >2 years of relevant experience, **or** PhD with 0–2 years of industry experience. - Familiarity with automotive, claims, or insurance technology is a desirable asset. - No specific professional certifications required.
