Job Description
Job Title: Chief Information Security Officer Role Summary: Lead the global enterprise security strategy for Cambridge University Press & Assessment, safeguarding the organization’s products, services, systems, and data. Drive security policy development, oversight of standards and compliance, and coordinate security initiatives across the organization. Expectations: - Establish and execute a comprehensive security strategy aligned with business priorities. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging threats, especially AI‑related risks, and evaluate their impact. - Ensure continuous compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: - Own enterprise security and risk policy, aligning with business objectives and regulatory frameworks. - Oversee security awareness programs and business continuity planning. - Lead risk reduction projects to lower security exposure. - Monitor and report emerging threats, progress, and incidents to senior committees. - Manage security‑related vendor relationships and conduct significant fraud/misconduct investigations. - Champion technical innovation, ensuring secure adoption of new technologies. - Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing security team, fostering collaboration and inclusion. Required Skills: - Deep expertise in identifying & mitigating IT and data threats, with current technology knowledge. - Experience in regulated environments (education, finance, healthcare, etc.) and familiarity with compliance, data protection, and risk management. - Proven leadership and management capabilities, with a track record of inspiring diverse teams. - Strategic thinker with commercial awareness, ensuring security initiatives support business goals. - Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to explain complex security concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability in risk‑management contexts. - Innovative mindset for anticipating emerging threats and trends. - Collaborative working style and resilience under pressure. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA strongly preferred.
