Job Title: Healthcare IT Project Manager
Role Summary: Lead and coordinate technology projects that deliver electronic health record (EHR) and health‑information‑system solutions for state agencies and healthcare providers.
Expactations: Manage full project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables meet regulatory standards (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS) and industry interoperability (HL7, FHIR). Communicate progress to diverse stakeholders and align project goals with state priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate, scope, plan, and execute IT projects, producing project plans, schedules, and Gantt charts.
- Gather and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews, process modeling, and data analysis (Excel, SQL, Tableau).
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams, resolving dependencies and prioritizing requirements across multiple programs.
- Monitor project performance, report metrics, and prepare presentations for council meetings and stakeholder briefings.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and consent regulations and support data sharing initiatives.
- Identify process improvements and integrate emerging technologies to enhance system functionality.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement strategies, synthesizing feedback into actionable recommendations.
Required Skills
- Business analysis fundamentals: requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, process modeling, documentation, and problem‑solving.
- Healthcare domain knowledge: EHR systems, health‑IT ecosystem, HIPAA, HITECH, CMS regulations, HL7, FHIR, interoperability, data sharing, and patient privacy laws.
- Technical acumen: data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau), project management software and collaboration tools.
- Strong communication, adaptability, empathy, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Public‑presentation capability (PowerPoint, report writing).
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and prioritize trade‑offs.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, health informatics, public health, or related field (equivalent professional experience acceptable).
- Preferred Master of Business Administration (health focus) or related advanced degree.
- Certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) and healthcare informatics (RHIA, RHIT) are advantageous.
