Job Description

**Job Title** Senior Data and Analytics Engineer **Role Summary** Lead data and analytics initiatives for a UK Private Markets investment team. Drive implementation of the technology roadmap, deliver high‑quality reporting, and manage data workflows across internal systems and external vendors. **Expectations** - 6‑month contract (IR35 included). - Act as a technical authority, self‑directing projects and bridging gaps between data, analytics, and technology teams. - Enable rapid adoption of new tools (DealCloud, Untap) and support integration with existing data platforms. **Key Responsibilities** - Build and maintain advanced Excel reports (formulas, VBA, Power Query) for quarterly and ad‑hoc investor deliverables. - Manage manual data overrides and ensure timely feeds into primary data sources. - Develop and use Access databases as temporary solutions for portfolio track‑record data. - Establish data quality issue tracking and resolution processes. - Participate in technology due‑diligence, adoption, and onboarding of vendor tools; create configuration guidelines. - Design and implement new variables, forms, and audit checks in DealCloud and Untap, delivering automated quarterly reporting. - Create data sharing templates and test data flows between entities, documenting findings and recommendations. - Optional: develop Power BI reports and set up portfolio databases in Databricks, Teradata, or Oracle where time permits. **Required Skills** - Advanced Excel (VBA, Power Query). - Intermediate+ Access and Power BI. - Proficiency in relational databases and tools such as Teradata, Oracle, Databricks, or data lakes. - Strong data manipulation, preparation, modelling, and visualization abilities. - Technical self‑starter with analytical mindset; capable of handling ambiguous problems. - Experience leading technical and analytical projects at a senior level. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline. - Minimum of VP‑level experience in technical analytical roles.
