**Job Title**
Operational Key Account Manager (f/m/d)
**Role Summary**
Active liaison between key commercial accounts and freight operations, ensuring efficient execution of transport solutions, margin optimisation, and customer satisfaction within a global logistics environment.
**Expactations**

- Collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and regional teams

**Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as primary contact for key accounts, coordinating all freight execution activities
- Provide competitive spot rate quotations for air, sea, road, and multimodal transport in partnership with pricing teams
- Analyse client requirements, propose tailored transport solutions, and identify upsell opportunities
- Support sales with service reviews, KPI tracking, reporting, and account planning
- Coordinate MBR/QBR meetings, monitor performance, and drive corrective actions to uphold quality standards
- Manage customer data, pricing, and sales pipelines using CRM tools; oversee RFQ lifecycles and documentation
- Ensure seamless hand‑over to operations, collaborating with internal stakeholders for consistent service delivery
- Build and nurture long‑term customer relationships, driving growth and aligning solutions with client objectives
**Required Skills**
- Proven freight forwarding experience (≥3 years), preferably in a vertical division
- Strong knowledge of air and ocean freight business models, key account management, and sales processes
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting
- Demonstrated presentation, negotiation, and client relationship skills
- Leadership qualities: decision making, team motivation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), business intelligence tools (Tableau), and spot quoting platforms
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (advanced degree or industry certifications preferred)
- Fluent in English; additional languages (Dutch, French, German, Japanese) are a plus
