**Job Title**
Automation Engineer – HMI
**Role Summary**
Design and implement functional automation architectures for marine, industrial, and oil & gas clients. Lead control system design, HMI development, cybersecurity implementation, and factory commissioning while maintaining documentation and client interfaces.
**Expectations**
* Minimum 3 years in a similar engineering role.
* Proficient in PLC programming, supervisory systems (e.g., PCVue, Intouch), and IT networking.
* Strong English communication and office‑suite proficiency.
* Knowledge of SSE culture and cybersecurity practices is highly valued.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Develop functional architecture for PLCs, networks, and communication interfaces.
2. Design HMI (human‑machine interface) layouts and specifications.
3. Produce and maintain design, installation, and test documentation.
4. Program control and command systems; contribute to tool and standard improvement.
5. Deploy required cybersecurity measures across automation networks.
6. Coordinate with CAD office to create equipment drawings, wiring schematics, interconnect diagrams, and IO lists.
7. Interface with clients, certification bodies, and suppliers.
8. Organize and conduct factory tests with clients and certification agencies.
9. Track engineering activities: schedule updates, engineering hours, documentation delivery, remaining effort estimates, cost‑saving opportunities, and reporting.
10. Provide technical support to Sales, Commissioning, and After‑Sales departments.
**Required Skills**
* PLC programming (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, Siemens).
* Supervisory control software (PCVue, Intouch, or similar).
* IT networking and cybersecurity fundamentals for industrial control systems.
* HMI design principles and tool usage.
* Engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
* Proficiency with MCAD/CAD and schematic capture tools.
* Strong oral and written English.
* Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
* Technical certifications in PLC programming, HMI design, or industrial networking are an advantage.
* Certifications related to secure industrial systems (e.g., ISO/IEC 62443) preferred but not mandatory.
