Job Description
Job title: Legal Counsel (Junior‑to‑Mid‑Level) Role Summary: Provide comprehensive legal support to a real‑estate investment & development business, advising on property, commercial contracts, employment, IP/data protection, and corporate governance. Work closely with the General Counsel to deliver high‑quality legal solutions across a diverse UK and international portfolio. Expactations: * 2–4 years PQE as a qualified solicitor or barrister. * Strong understanding of commercial law, contract drafting, and risk management. * Proactive, autonomous work style with clear communication to senior stakeholders and the Board. * Ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously under tight deadlines. * Familiarity with cross‑jurisdictional work, English law and other relevant legal systems. Key Responsibilities: * Draft, review and negotiate retail & office leases, asset‑management documents, and service agreements. * Advise on employment contracts, HR issues, and employment law compliance. * Manage IP affairs: domain registration, brand protection, and collaboration with media/communications teams. * Oversee consumer and third‑party service contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. * Update and draft company policies in response to regulatory developments; implement across portfolio. * Administer legal projects and document/case management using SharePoint; maintain deeds archive and retention schedules. * Contribute to divestiture/acquisition projects as experience grows. * Build and maintain relationships with external counsel and stakeholders in multiple jurisdictions. Required Skills: * Solid commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills. * Knowledge of real‑estate law (lease, asset management) and ability to learn sector specifics. * Competence in employment law and data protection principles. * Proficiency in legal research, risk assessment, and policy drafting. * Strong written and verbal communication for reporting to business leaders and the Board. * Time‑management and prioritisation of multiple concurrent matters. * Familiarity with document‑management systems (SharePoint preferred). Required Education & Certifications: * Qualified lawyer: Solicitor or Barrister (UK). * 2–4 years post‑qualification experience. * Real‑estate training preferred but not mandatory; equivalent commercial/contracts/IP experience acceptable.
