Job Description
**Job Title** Junior Service Manager **Role Summary** Provide service management for national GP IT systems within the Cloud Engineering & Digital Operations team of National Services Scotland. Responsibilities include clinical governance facilitation, change and release coordination, incident/problem management, supplier service‑level assurance, and managing support capacity and costs. Fixed‑term 18‑month contract. **Expectations** - Collaborate effectively with health professionals, NHS Boards and Local Authorities. - Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. - Prioritise and manage conflicting demands and deadlines. - Negotiate and influence customers and suppliers to meet agreed timelines. - Ensure service levels are consistently met and reported. **Key Responsibilities** - Oversee end‑to‑end service management for national GP IT platforms. - Facilitate clinical‑based governance processes. - Coordinate change and release cycles across the digital services portfolio. - Lead incident and problem management activities, ensuring timely resolution. - Monitor supplier performance against SLAs and produce regular service reports. - Manage support capacity, cost control and resource planning. - Produce dashboards and performance metrics for stakeholders. - Liaise with users to capture requirements, feedback and drive continuous improvement. **Required Skills** - Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. - Excellent organisational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. - Ability to handle confidential data securely. - Negotiation and influencing skills with both internal and external parties. - Capacity to prioritise multiple tasks and manage competing priorities. - Basic knowledge of cloud engineering, digital operations or health IT concepts. - Proficiency with IT Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA) and reporting. - Team‑oriented with effective stakeholder management. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum: Secondary education (A‑levels/High School) or equivalent. - Preferred: Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Business Administration or a related field. - Desirable: ITIL Foundation or equivalent IT service‑management certification.
