**Job Title:** Senior Infrastructure Architect
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise infrastructure solutions across public and private cloud platforms to support TfL’s core business systems and customer‑facing services. Own the entire lifecycle from concept through to operational delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver architecture that meets business, security, and performance goals.
- Work collaboratively with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to secure technical compliance.
- Demonstrate independently-driven, proactive problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Own end‑to‑end lifecycle of infrastructure products: conceptualisation, business case development, strategy, roadmap, design, and delivery.
2. Produce high‑level and detailed design artefacts (architecture diagrams, requirement documents, deployment plans).
3. Validate third‑party proposals against technical and business requirements.
4. Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, and testers to integrate solutions.
5. Apply industry‑standard frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and open‑standards best practices.
6. Prioritise and manage tasks, ensuring timely delivery within high‑pressure, deadline‑driven projects.
7. Communicate design intent clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced expertise in at least 3 of the following:
- Virtualisation platforms (Azure, VMware, Hyper‑V)
- Hyper‑converged & virtual storage solutions
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Enterprise networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing)
- Enterprise OS & databases (Windows Server, RHEL, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Strong understanding of enterprise security controls (IDS/IPS, PKI, encryption).
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 architecture (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID).
- Proficiency in designing scalable, secure network and application architectures.
- Experience managing vendor contracts and project‑level procurement.
- Skilled in project management tools and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder engagement.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- TOGAF certification (or similar enterprise architecture framework).
