Job title: Business Manager
Role Summary
Lead client acquisition and relationship management for a multi‑sector consulting firm. Drive revenue growth, ensure client satisfaction, and oversee project staffing and financial performance of assigned accounts.
Expectations
- Generate new business and maintain an engaged client portfolio.
- Secure and negotiate profitable contracts with senior client executives.
- Manage end‑to‑end sales cycle and deliver compelling proposals.
- Coordinate internal resources, monitor project execution, and safeguard client interests.
- Contribute to service‑line strategy, talent acquisition, and firm visibility initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Commercial Development & Client Relationship**
- Prospect, qualify, and cultivate relationships with CFOs, COOs, CIOs, CTOs and other C‑suite stakeholders.
- Identify transformation needs, build value propositions, and respond to RFPs and consultations.
- Negotiate fee structures, terms, and contract conditions.
- Retain and upsell existing clients.
2. **Activity & Staffing Management**
- Assess client requirements in partnership with consulting leads.
- Source, select, and assign internal consultants and freelancers to assignments.
- Conduct regular client and consultant status meetings, risk reviews, and issue resolution.
- Own the P&L for assigned portfolio: revenue, margin, forecasting, and action plans.
3. **Strategic & Firm‑Growth Contributions**
- Support development of new service offerings and market positioning in finance, IT, operations, and public sector.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to attract high‑quality consultants.
- Enhance firm visibility through events, webinars, LinkedIn, and professional networks.
- Mentor junior consultants on business development and client management.
Required Skills
- Full‑cycle sales expertise (prospecting, qualification, proposal, negotiation, closing, retention).
- Strong communication and presentation skills for senior executives.
- Financial acumen: P&L oversight, margin management, forecasting.
- Project coordination: resource planning, issue tracking, risk management.
- Proactive, self‑driven, and able to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Team‑oriented with coaching ability for consultants.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Bac +5).
- 2–7 years experience as a Business Manager, Sales Engineer, or Account Manager in a consulting environment or within a corporate business unit.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and client‑satisfaction targets.
