Job Description
Job title: Security Engineering Authority Role Summary: Provide senior-level technical ownership of the security infrastructure estate for Vodafone’s VF National Gas/NSEO account. Act as the primary technical authority on all security projects, firewall rulebase changes, incident escalation, and vendor support. Lead architecture design, change management, inventory control, and lifecycle management of security hardware and software solutions. Expectations: Hold a current Security Clearance (SC). Possess deep experience with Checkpoint, Juniper, Bluecoat, and F5 firewall technologies. Proficient in Cisco networking, including major switching families, wireless technologies, IPT/QoS, 802.1x, Inflobox DNS, and a broad set of VPN solutions (IPsec, SSL VPN, DMVPN). Demonstrated knowledge of WAN technologies and routing protocols. Key Responsibilities 1. Own and maintain the customer’s security infrastructure, including processes, documentation, and lifecycle management. 2. Serve as senior technical point of reference for all security-related projects and changes to firewall rulebases. 3. Escalate and interface with vendor support on all security incidents. 4. Design high‑level and low‑level network architecture, supporting technical decisions and change management for both physical and remote changes. 5. Manage customer inventory of hardware and software, tracking end‑of‑life (EOL) dates and ensuring timely updates. 6. Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to implement security solutions that meet customer requirements and industry best practices. Required Skills - Advanced knowledge of Checkpoint, Juniper, Bluecoat, F5 security appliances. - Strong Cisco networking expertise (routing, switching, wireless, IPT/QoS, 802.1x). - VPN technologies: IPsec, SSL VPN, DMVPN. - WAN technologies and routing protocols. - Incident management, change control, vendor escalation, and inventory lifecycle management. - Clear communication and stakeholder management. Required Education & Certifications - Security Clearance (SC) required. - Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., Checkpoint Certified Security Specialist, Juniper Networks Certified Specialist, F5 Certified Technology Associate, Cisco CCNA/CCNP) are highly desirable.
