Job title: Project Manager – Firewalls
Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end migration of Check Point firewall environments, coordinating design, implementation, and validation across cross‑functional teams while ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and security standards.
Expactations: Deliver complex firewall migration projects on schedule, maintain comprehensive project documentation, and serve as the authoritative source for all Check Point migration activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute firewall migration projects, including legacy conversion, data‑center relaunch, or cloud migrations.
- Coordinate network, security, and infrastructure teams; manage scope, timelines, risks, and resource allocation.
- Act as primary point of contact for Check Point activities: upgrades, policy optimization, rule‑base cleanup, and change management.
- Oversee network cutovers, validate post‑migration performance, and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Develop and maintain project plans, risk logs, status reports, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage vendor relationships for hardware, licenses, and support services.
- Track and report progress, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership.
- Capture lessons learned, drive continuous improvement, and document best practices.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of project management in network infrastructure or security engineering.
- Hands‑on or managerial experience with Check Point (R80.x or later) firewall deployments.
- Proven track record of successful firewall migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, NAT, and related networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and navigate complex technical environments.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE).
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
