Job Title: Business Analyst
Role Summary:
Act as the liaison between IT, facilities, operations, security, and business units to gather and translate data centre infrastructure requirements, optimize capacity, and support project delivery within a financial technology environment.
Expectations:
- Deliver accurate, detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Provide data‑driven dashboards and KPIs for infrastructure performance.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder communication, and vendor coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, and process mapping for data centre infrastructure initiatives.
- Translate high‑level business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Analyze current infrastructure, workflows, and utilization to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Develop infrastructure roadmaps (compute, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud/hybrid, facilities).
- Perform capacity planning for power, cooling, rack space, compute, and storage.
- Evaluate impact of infrastructure changes (refreshes, migrations, upgrades).
- Support project managers and engineering teams in defining scope, timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Maintain documentation: business cases, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria.
- Analyze operational data (utilization, performance, availability, incident trends, cost).
- Produce dashboards and reports, define KPIs, and recommend optimizations.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of infrastructure services.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Technical:
- In‑depth knowledge of data centre components: servers, storage, LAN/WAN, VMware/Hyper‑V, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with power, cooling, rack infrastructure, cabling, DCIM, and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, CMDB structures, and architectural documentation.
Business & Analytical:
- Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, and impact assessment skills.
- Ability to produce business cases, technical documentation, and user stories.
- Proficient in Excel and data analysis/reporting tools; experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Detail‑oriented with strong documentation habits.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑availability environments.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑BCS, or ITIL Foundation are an advantage.
