Job Description
**Job Title** Academic Manager of English Studies – Fixed-Term Maternity Leave Cover (Summer Camps) **Role Summary** Lead and deliver classroom‑based English language courses in the UK, while supporting EU and US course delivery through training, mentoring, and best‑practice sharing. Ensure high‑quality teaching, staff development, and compliance with accreditation standards across multiple summer camp sites. **Expections** - Manage recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of teaching staff. - Deliver academic training programs and CPD for EFL teachers. - Oversee course material updates, ICT and resource planning, and student class allocation. - Maintain accreditation quality frameworks and internal quality assurance. - Coordinate pre‑summer operations and ongoing support during the school term. - Work flexible hours, including weekends, during the operative period (21/06/2026 – 09/08/2026). - Travel between camps as required. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Recruit, interview, and onboard EFL teachers for UK, EU, and US programmes. 2. Design and deliver training and CPD sessions to new and existing staff. 3. Update and adapt lesson plans, textbooks, and digital resources. 4. Plan and manage classroom ICT equipment and user profiles. 5. Allocate students to classes and distribute teaching teams across sites. 6. Observe lessons, provide constructive feedback, and support teacher improvement. 7. Coordinate staff redeployment and cover arrangements during the term. 8. Ensure compliance with UK Accreditation quality standards and internal quality checks. 9. Manage operational logistics for pre‑summer preparation and ongoing camp activities. 10. Maintain accurate record‑keeping of staff hours, lesson observations, and student enrolment data. **Required Skills** - TEFLQ qualification or equivalent. - Strong written and verbal communication. - Leadership and motivational skills with experience managing a team. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Experience in continuous‑enrolment EFL teaching and summer camp settings. - Ability to observe, assess, and give feedback to teachers. - Knowledge of CPD design and delivery. - Recruitment and selection experience. - Course development, especially for junior learners. - Familiarity with CLASS software and classroom ICT systems. - Project management and multi‑site coordination. - Understanding of UK Accreditation quality frameworks. **Required Education & Certifications** - TEFLQ qualification (or equivalent EFL teaching credential). - Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred. - Current Enhanced DBS check (and overseas conduct certificates if applicable).
