**Job Title**
Welfare & Administration Manager (Fixed‑Term Residential Summer Contract)
**Role Summary**
Responsible for safeguarding and welfare of students, staffing welfare and night supervision teams, and ensuring seamless administrative operations in a residential summer camp environment. Works closely with the Camp Manager to maintain a safe, supportive, and well‑organised setting.
**Expectations**
- Prioritise student safety, implement safeguarding, health & safety policies.
- Manage student attendance, accommodation, and welfare activities.
- Lead, train, and supervise welfare staff; act as initial contact for welfare concerns.
- Deliver accurate, confidential record‑keeping and reporting.
- Adapt to changing demands and cover for the Camp Manager when required.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as Designated Safeguarding Staff; care for sick students and coordinate medical responses.
- Maintain presence‑check registers and manage attendance records.
- Liaise with Customer Services, Sales, and external stakeholders on welfare matters.
- Communicate transfer plans, ensure smooth departures, and allocate accommodation.
- Conduct staff induction, training, and manage Welfare Officer rota.
- Line‑manage Welfare Officers & Night Supervisors; provide daily briefings.
- Oversee administrative tasks: check‑in/check‑out, pocket money distribution, daily reports.
- Manage student behavior, enforce residence rules, and maintain tidy accommodation.
- Assist with marketing uploads, catering calculations, dietary requirements, and activity programme support.
- Lead daily meetings, contribute to process improvements.
- Cover Camp Manager duties on absences.
**Required Skills**
- High proficiency in MS Outlook & Excel.
- Experience in pastoral, welfare, or residential management for children/youth.
- Proven safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety knowledge.
- Ability to manage confidential records and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
- Leadership and team‑support capabilities.
- Excellent organisational, problem‑solving, and prioritisation skills under pressure.
- Knowledge of emergency and incident management in a residential setting.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Degree/national qualification relevant to child or youth work, pastoral care, or education (equivalent).
- Current safeguarding qualifications (e.g., CSCS, RCS, or relevant safeguarding training).
- First‑Aid and/or CPR certification preferred.
