Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Science and Innovation Manager **Role Summary:** Lead the data innovation function within a transformation program, designing and delivering scalable BI, AI, and machine-learning solutions that enhance decision‑making and customer outcomes. Manage a small team of data specialists, embed advanced analytics across operational units, and maintain cutting‑edge GIS capabilities. **Expactations:** - Deliver end‑to‑end analytics services that drive digital capability and insights. - Lead the creation, rollout, and governance of BI dashboards and reporting suites. - Champion adoption of AI/ML for forecasting, efficiency, and service improvement. - Foster a data‑partnering culture by collaborating with business and transformation leaders. - Maintain leadership in GIS and spatial analytics within the sector. **Key Responsibilities:** - Head a forward‑thinking data innovation function, steering BI, AI, and ML initiatives. - Oversee design, development, and deployment of dashboards, reporting suites, and predictive models. - Manage and inspire a team of three (bi/ai developers, data analyst), aligning work across multiple streams. - Advocate and enable advanced analytics adoption across the organization. - Serve as a data partner to operational teams, integrating data‑driven solutions into transformation programmes. - Provide strategic oversight of GIS capabilities, ensuring sector leadership. **Required Skills:** - Proven expertise in BI, data visualization, and dashboard development (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). - Strong background in AI/ML modelling and production deployment (Python, R, Azure ML, or equivalent). - Experience in GIS and spatial analytics tools. - Leadership ability to manage a small analytics team and deliver projects under tight deadlines. - Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing across all organizational levels. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. - Familiarity with data automation and integrated analytics pipelines. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. - Certifications in BI (e.g., Power BI Associate), Python/R, Azure ML, or similar are preferred.
