**Job Title**
Engineering Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead the management and growth of several software development squads (8‑15 engineers total) within a high‑traffic, multi‑instance SaaS platform. Drive delivery excellence, process optimization, and talent development while aligning engineering objectives with product strategy and technical vision.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 8 years of software development experience with progressive management roles.
- Proven track record leading medium‑sized teams (≥8 developers).
- Strong understanding of SaaS product engineering, SDLC, and scalable architecture.
- Fluency in English; proficient French is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage one or more squads, overseeing daily operations, performance, and capacity.
- Define and track individual and team OKRs, providing regular feedback and career‑path discussions.
- Recruit, onboard, and upskill engineering talent.
- Ensure on‑time delivery of product features in collaboration with Product Managers and Tech Leads.
- Own continuous improvement of development processes (Agile ceremonies, CI/CD, quality, documentation).
- Resolve technical roadblocks in coordination with product, infra, data, and security stakeholders.
- Partner with Tech Leads to align technology decisions with product goals.
- Champion engineering culture initiatives: knowledge sharing, mentorship, and community engagement.
- Participate in product and technical governance committees; serve as liaison between engineering and other functions.
**Required Skills**
- Leadership & team management (cross‑functional collaboration, coaching, performance management).
- Agile development, sprint planning, retrospectives, and delivery tracking.
- Understanding of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Azure, GCP.
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (NewRelic, Grafana, Sentry).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management (English & French).
- Analytical mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Management or leadership certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) are advantageous.
