**Job Title**
PKI Expert – Cyber Security (Telecom)
**Role Summary**
Seasoned PKI professional to design, implement, and manage Public Key Infrastructure and key‑management solutions for large‑scale telecom and enterprise environments. Remote contract role (outside IR35) with occasional site visits, supporting 5G, core network, IoT, and API security initiatives while ensuring adherence to ETSI, GSMA, and NIST standards.
**Expectations**
- Deliver end‑to‑end PKI architectures that meet telecom‑grade security and performance requirements.
- Maintain certificate lifecycle and key management processes with high availability and auditability.
- Provide expert guidance on encryption, authentication, and compliance matters.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to integrate PKI into existing and new services.
- Operate autonomously in a remote setting, communicating progress and issues clearly.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and deploy scalable PKI infrastructure for telecom and enterprise systems.
- Manage certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and key lifecycle using industry‑standard tools and HSMs.
- Integrate PKI with 5G core, IoT platforms, TLS/IPsec, mutual authentication, and API security frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with ETSI, GSMA, and NIST cryptographic standards and maintain related documentation.
- Automate PKI processes (e.g., scripting, workflow orchestration) to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Offer technical support and mentorship on PKI, encryption, and authentication topics across project teams.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience in PKI design, implementation, and management (cryptography/key management).
- Strong background in telecommunications, network security, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Deep knowledge of TLS, IPsec, mutual authentication, and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
- Familiarity with PKI compliance frameworks, certificate policies, and lifecycle automation.
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python) preferred.
- Ability to interpret and apply ETSI, GSMA, and NIST security standards.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or related field *or* equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GICSP) are advantageous but not mandatory.
