Job Description
**Job Title:** Cyber Security Engineer **Role Summary:** The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for embedding information security controls into all IT projects, managing the operational delivery of security solutions, and supporting incident response across the organization. The role ensures compliance with security policies, conducts risk assessments, and proactively addresses emerging cyber threats, particularly within the public and financial sectors. **Expactations:** - Deliver expert security advice across multiple business units. - Maintain high standards of security governance, risk management, and compliance. - Collaborate with project teams to integrate security early in the development lifecycle. - Lead security audits, certification activities, and incident management efforts. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform risk analyses and develop mitigation plans for new and existing projects. - Integrate security requirements into project scopes and monitor their implementation. - Manage and respond to security incidents, phishing alerts, and SOC notifications. - Update and maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines. - Define and enforce configuration hardening baselines appropriate to system criticality. - Conduct Level 2 security controls and periodic assessments of security activities. - Execute internal phishing tests and deliver targeted security awareness communications. - Provide technical support to regulated operational units on cyber security matters. **Required Skills:** - Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, network security, and application security. - Proven experience in security incident management and threat analysis. - Familiarity with risk governance frameworks (e.g., GRC). - Ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable plans for non‑security stakeholders. - Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. - Self‑motivated, autonomous professional with a strong sense of responsibility. - Adaptable, collaborative, and innovative mindset. - Effective written and verbal communication; proficiency in English is essential. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Master’s degree or equivalent from an engineering or university program. - Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in IT security. - Preferred certifications: CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, ISO 27005, NIS Lead Implementer, EBIOS.
