Job Description

**Job Title** Network Security Engineer (SC Cleared) **Role Summary** Contract security engineer (outside IR35) responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network security solutions across data center and remote sites. Must hold an active Security Check (SC) clearance and be able to travel occasionally to the Warwick or southern data centre. **Expectations** - Maintain active SC clearance throughout engagement. - Deliver high‑level and low‑level design documentation. - Provide on‑site support as needed (occasional visits). - Work within contract terms and adhere to client security policies. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and implement high‑level and detailed low‑level network security architectures. - Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot security devices: Check Point, Palo Alto, Juniper, Blue Coat, F5 load balancers. - Manage Cisco networking infrastructure, including core and edge switches, wireless technologies, IPT/QoS/802.1X, and DNS (Inflobox). - Deploy and maintain VPN solutions (IPsec, SSL VPN, DMVPN). - Support WAN technologies and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.). - Provide second‑line technical support and incident response for security events. - Produce and maintain design documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures. **Required Skills** - Hands‑on experience with Check Point, Palo Alto, Juniper, Blue Coat, and F5 load balancers. - Strong knowledge of Cisco switching families and routing platforms. - Proficiency in wireless networking, Cisco IPT/QoS, 802.1X authentication, and DNS (Inflobox). - Expertise in VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL, DMVPN). - In‑depth understanding of WAN routing protocols and network design principles. - Ability to produce high‑level and low‑level design documentation. - Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Active Security Check (SC) clearance (mandatory). - Industry certifications preferred: CCNA/CCNP, Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA), Palo Alto Networks PCNSA/PCNSE, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or equivalent.
