Job Description

Job Title: Backend Software Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, and scale resilient backend services for an AI‑centric platform. Own end‑to‑end feature delivery, from architecture to production, while ensuring reliability, performance, and observability. Expectations: Deliver high‑throughput, scalable APIs that support AI agents. Maintain engineering rigor (testing, monitoring, CI/CD). Own features from concept through rapid deployment. Collaborate with product, design, and AI teams to shape user workflows. Leverage AI coding assistants to enhance productivity. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement scalable, data‑intensive backend systems for AI employee workflows. - Design and expose robust APIs that handle high‑volume AI requests. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability tooling. - Own end‑to‑end feature ownership: specification, coding, testing, deployment, and post‑release support. - Manage and optimize database layers (PostgreSQL, Redis) for performance and reliability. - Apply distributed systems best practices to ensure availability and low latency. - Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards. - Reduce technical debt and iterate on architecture to support future growth. Required Skills: - 3+ years of backend engineering in high‑growth or early‑stage environments. - Strong experience building scalable, data‑intensive services with modern API design. - Proficiency with cloud‑native tools (AWS ECS/Fargate, monitoring, CI/CD). - Deep understanding of distributed systems, reliability, performance, and database technologies. - Skilled in TypeScript/Node or equivalent backend stacks. - Proven track record of owning parts of a system and shipping with impact. - Excellent communication and ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and using AI coding assistants. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (equivalent professional experience accepted). - AWS or related cloud certifications a plus but not mandatory.
