**Job title**: Air Operations Controller – Specialized Officer (Naval Aviation)
**Role Summary**
Air Operations Controllers (COA) oversee the planning, execution, and post‑mission assessment of naval aircraft operations, including helicopters, embarked air groups, maritime patrol aircraft, and drones. They ensure mission readiness, provide tactical and technical support, and act as a liaison between aircrews, command, and staff to guarantee safe and effective operations.
**Expectations**
- Begin in an operational‑focused role with responsibility for mission planning and support.
- Progress to senior staff positions in planning, operations execution, aircraft system expertise, and military intelligence.
- Opportunities for inter‑service or international assignments.
- Potential deployment aboard surface vessels hosting aircraft.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Plan, coordinate, and support air operations (mission prep, logistics, intelligence integration).
2. Advise pilots, aircrew, and command on tactical, technical, and safety matters.
3. Analyze and evaluate mission performance for after‑action reports.
4. Contribute to aeromarine, intelligence, and sensor integration for mission success.
5. Maintain readiness for multinational and joint operations.
6. Participate in continuous training and advanced coursework (e.g., ORIA program) for career advancement.
**Required Skills**

- Knowledge of aeromarine operations, military intelligence, and onboard aircraft systems.

**Required Education & Certifications**
- Minimum Bac+3 (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree); preferred fields: engineering, science preparation, political science, or history/geography.
- Completion of the 8‑month naval management and aeronautics training program (Ecole Navale and CEFAeé).
- For embarked air group roles, an additional one‑year specialized course (ORIA) is required.
- Valid driver’s license (if required for shipboard deployments).
- English language certification meeting B1 minimum (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).
