Job title: Animal Retail Sales Associate (Male/Female) Role Summary: Deliver exceptional customer service in an animal store by guiding customers to suitable products and services, managing shelf merchandising, and ensuring accurate stock control. Expactations: Friendly demeanor, strong client‑oriented approach, motivation to achieve sales goals, adaptability to a dynamic retail environment, and commitment to animal welfare compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Assist customers in selecting pet products and services that meet their specific needs. - Set up and maintain attractive product displays to attract and retain premium customers. - Apply proper product labeling and ensure all items are correctly marked for sale. - Handle inventory restocking, markdowns, and removal of obsolete stock. - Monitor stock levels, perform cycle counts, and report discrepancies. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail area, ensuring compliance with animal welfare regulations. Required Skills: - Proven experience in retail sales with a focus on customer engagement. - Knowledge of pet products and basic animal care principles. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Strong communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills. - Basic mathematical proficiency for pricing and inventory calculations. - Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory software. Required Education & Certifications: - Secondary education (high school diploma) or equivalent. - Previous retail sales experience or related training. - Additional certifications in pet care or retail merchandising are advantageous but not mandatory.
