Job Description: **Job title** Digital IC Backend Design Engineer **Role Summary** Design and implement physical layers for digital ICs, transforming RTL designs into manufacturable GDSII streams. Collaborate with RTL, DFT, and packaging teams to meet PPA, timing, yield, and manufacturability targets across advanced technology nodes. **Expectations** - Deliver large‑scale full‑chip and block‑level physical design projects on schedule. - Maintain high‑quality timing closure, power, and area metrics throughout the backend flow. - Enable tape‑out readiness and final sign‑off with stringent DRC/LVS/ERC compliance. **Key Responsibilities** - Execute floorplanning, placement, clock‑tree synthesis, routing, and physical verification (LVS/DRC/RCI). - Develop, refine, and automate backend design flows using Tcl scripting. - Drive timing, power, IR‑drop, and electromigration analysis to achieve performance goals. - Interface with front‑end designers to resolve timing, synthesis, and physical interface issues. - Support tape‑out preparation, sign‑off, and post‑tape‑out validation processes. **Required Skills** - Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field. - 4+ years of professional experience in digital IC backend implementation. - Expertise in Cadence Innovus and Genus, including P&R, STA, DRC/LVS, IR‑drop, EM. - Proficient in Tcl scripting for flow automation. - Experience with 22 nm or smaller technology nodes; hierarchical/full‑chip implementation preferred. - Strong problem‑solving and communication skills; fluent English; basic French is advantageous. **Required Education & Certifications** - Master’s or higher degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. - No industry certifications required, but knowledge of IC design standards (e.g., JEDEC, IPC) is a plus.
