Job Description
**Job title:** Graduate Scheme – Operational Excellence **Role Summary:** The Graduate Trainee will support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the food manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include monitoring daily processes, analyzing performance data, implementing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S programs, improving equipment reliability, monitoring KPIs, generating performance reports, mapping workflows, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and delivery. **Expactations:** - Successful completion of a degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline with an expected or achieved 2:1 (Hons). - Right to work in the UK without time limit. - Keen interest in building a career in the food manufacturing sector. - Demonstrated enthusiasm, motivation, and a genuine passion for operational excellence. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor and optimize daily production operations and resource scheduling. - Analyse performance metrics (e.g., OEE, downtime) and identify improvement opportunities. - Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) programs. - Design and implement process improvements using Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and related methodologies. - Evaluate change impact, adjust plans, and report results to stakeholders. - Support warehouse operations and inventory accuracy initiatives. - Map processes, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure compliance with operational and quality standards. - Conduct root cause analysis (Fishbone, Pareto) and recommend corrective actions. - Collaborate with cross‑departmental teams to align operational objectives with business goals. **Required Skills:** - Process analysis and improvement (Lean, Six Sigma). - Data interpretation, KPI tracking, and performance reporting. - Root cause analysis and problem‑solving techniques. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. - Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic manufacturing environments. - Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment reliability and maintenance. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field (2:1 or expected 2:1). - Willingness to pursue or obtain Lean/ Six Sigma certifications (preferred). - Valid right to work in the United Kingdom (no visa sponsorship).
