Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Scientist **Role Summary:** Mid‑level data scientist working in a consultancy environment, embedded with client teams to design, build, test, and deploy machine‑learning models and analytical solutions on cloud‑based data platforms. Operates in an agile, hybrid setting (2 days on‑site) and handles varied projects across industries. **Expectations:** - 2+ years of professional data‑science experience. - Ability to self‑learn new tools and adapt to changing requirements. - Strong problem‑framing mindset, turning ambiguous business questions into testable hypotheses. - Commitment to quality, reproducibility, and clear communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and deploy statistical and ML models within client data environments (initially BigQuery). - Create prototypes/POCs to validate ideas and inform solution design. - Translate fuzzy business problems into analytical approaches, success metrics, and deliverables. - Conduct data wrangling, cleaning, and validation on large, cloud‑based datasets. - Participate in agile delivery cycles, incorporating feedback and iterative improvements. - Collaborate with teammates, sharing insights and challenging assumptions. - Document workflows, version‑control code, and ensure reproducibility. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, etc.) and SQL. - Strong analytical, statistical, and problem‑framing abilities. - Experience with version control (Git). - Comfortable handling large datasets on cloud platforms (BigQuery; Snowflake or Databricks a plus). - Ability to design and operationalise ML pipelines in cloud environments (nice to have). - Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain technical concepts clearly. - Resilient, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative, computational, or statistical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Physics). - No specific certifications required; practical experience and demonstrable skill set are essential.
