Job title: Senior Works Engineer (Any Gender)
Role Summary: Lead the planning, execution, and close‑out of multi‑site civil engineering works for a major motorway modernization program between Chambery and Annecy. Ensure project objectives are met on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards, while coordinating internal teams, external contractors, and the toll operator.
Expectations: Minimum 7 years experience in civil/works engineering with proven track record on large infrastructure projects. Autonomous, decisive, and capable of prioritising competing demands. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with owners, subcontractors, and field crews. Project knowledge of motorways, road works, and toll systems is an advantage. Valid driver’s licence (B) required for regular travel between sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day‑to‑day supervision of construction activities across 4–5 sites, including Freeflow, technical installations, and toll plazas.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate workstreams, aligning resources, timelines, and deliverables with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor contract performance: amendments, change orders, and contractual reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements; conduct inspections and audit compliance.
- Liaise with the toll operator on access, operational constraints, and coordination of on‑site activities.
- Maintain client‑facing relationships, conduct site meetings, prepare minutes, and flag risk items.
- Control cost, schedule, and scope variations, proactively addressing deviations to keep the project on track.
Required Skills:

Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Works Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years in civil/works management on infrastructure projects.
- Valid B‑class driving licence.
- (Optional) Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or construction supervision.
