Senior Software Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of a high‑performance documentation website and the associated data pipelines that drive analytics, user engagement, and business insights. Deliver a fast, accessible, and SEO‑optimized documentation experience for quantum computing users while translating user behavior into actionable metrics for product and leadership teams.
**Expectations**
- Own the technical vision and roadmap for the documentation platform.
- Deliver measurable growth in documentation usage, community engagement, and search effectiveness.
- Maintain ownership of site KPIs, data models, and analytical dashboards that inform strategic decision‑making.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, develop, and maintain a responsive documentation site using React (Next.js, Vite, Webpack).
- Build reusable UI components, a unified design system, and ensure cross‑browser accessibility (WCAG).
- Integrate markdown/MDX based content from headless CMSs (Sanity, Contentful, Strapi).
- Optimize site performance (Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, SEO).
- Propose, implement, and iterate UI/UX enhancements for higher user engagement.
- Own KPI monitoring: traffic, usage patterns, search relevance; present findings to stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines feeding analytics dashboards (SQL warehouses, BI tools).
- Apply best practices in data modeling, governance, and documentation.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and quality assurance.
- Occasionally travel (≤10%) to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years shipping production‑grade software; bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Advanced proficiency in React, Next.js, Vite, or Webpack; experience with static site generators (Docusaurus, Next.js, Sphinx).
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, web accessibility, and SEO best practices.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, data models, and ETL workflows.
- Familiarity with SQL data warehouses, BI tools (Power BI), and visualization libraries.
- CI/CD pipeline expertise (GitHub Actions); version control (Git/GitHub).
- Integration testing with browser‑based tools (Cypress).
- Content integration experience (Markdown, MDX, headless CMS).
- Search engine integration (Algolia, DocSearch, ElasticSearch).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration, and developer‑centric design mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; OR equivalent experience.
- Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, asylum or refugee status).
- Exclusion for PRC or Russian nationals unless also U.S. citizens due to national security restrictions.
