**Job title**
Senior Platform Engineer / Technical Platforms Consultant
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, operation, and continuous improvement of hybrid on‑premise and Azure cloud platforms for enterprise customers. Provide hands‑on infrastructure expertise, act as the senior escalation point for technical incidents, and contribute to strategic architecture decisions.
**Expectations**
- Own complex platform environments and drive their modernization.
- Deliver high‑availability, disaster‑recovery, and performance‑optimised solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to development teams, stakeholders, and clients.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, implement and maintain Azure and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Optimize Windows Server and SQL Server environments for scalability and reliability.
- Build and enforce HA, DR, and business‑continuity strategies.
- Deploy and manage monitoring, logging, and observability tooling.
- Script and automate routine tasks using PowerShell or equivalent tools.
- Participate in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline enhancement.
- Provide senior-level technical support and incident resolution.
- Contribute to architecture roadmaps and technology direction.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Azure AD, Azure SQL).
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure (Active Directory, Group Policy, Hyper‑V).
- Strong background in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and backup/restore.
- Expertise in HA/DR design, including SQL Always On, clustering, and failover.
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).
- Scripting proficiency in PowerShell (or comparable automation tools).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles, and containerisation concepts.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (preferred).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).
- Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator (SQL Server) (preferred).
- Any additional relevant certifications in cloud, DevOps, or database administration are desirable.
