Job Description
Job Title: Security Service Engineer Role Summary: Deploy, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic security systems (Intruder Alarms, Access Control, CCTV) across commercial, domestic, and integrated environments. Provide technical advice, ensure system reliability, and support customers through scheduled visits and on‑call service calls. Expectations: - Deliver high‑quality field service with minimal downtime. - Uphold safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all installations. - Maintain accurate service records and timely reports. - Participate in structured after‑hours rota. - Continuously update product knowledge through manufacturer training. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security installations. - Plan and execute daily field service assignments covering the regional area. - Diagnose and resolve faults, coordinating with suppliers where necessary. - Advise customers on security best practices and system optimisation. - Respond to service requests, performing troubleshooting and repairs promptly. - Log service activities, create post‑call reports, and manage parts inventory. - Participate in after‑hours call‑out schedule to support urgent incidents. Required Skills: - Technical proficiency with Intruder Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Effective verbal and written communication for diverse stakeholders. - Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. - Ability to adapt to changing environments and evolving regulations. - Valid full UK driving licence. Required Education & Certifications: - Relevant trade or technical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent). - Industry certifications preferred: - EMIT, AICON, or manufacturer‑specific security system qualification. - Basic first aid (optional but advantageous). ---
