Job Description: **Job title:** Senior Development Manager **Role Summary:** Lead renewable energy project development from concept through to ready‑to‑build, managing site acquisition, permitting, grid connection, stakeholder negotiations, and financial viability to deliver profitable utility‑scale solar, battery storage, or onshore wind assets. **Expactations:** Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects from early feasibility to construction readiness, collaborate cross‑functionally, negotiate land and stakeholder agreements, and progress to the next leadership tier (Development Lead or Head of Development). **Key Responsibilities:** - Identify and evaluate suitable sites, conduct feasibility studies, and devise grid connection strategies. - Lead planning and permitting processes, ensuring compliance with UK regulations. - Negotiate land, easement, and stakeholder agreements to secure project rights. - Build and maintain detailed financial models, project appraisals, and risk assessments. - Coordinate technical, legal, and commercial teams to achieve project milestones. - Report progress to senior management and contribute to strategic planning. **Required Skills:** - Minimum 5 years’ experience in renewable energy project development (solar PV, battery storage, onshore wind). - In‑depth knowledge of UK planning and grid connection procedures. - Proven track record of delivering projects from concept to consented stage. - Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Analytical mindset with robust financial modelling proficiency. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or related discipline. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, RICS, or renewable energy project management qualifications) preferred.
